How we handle your data.
Summary, in one paragraph
Plyo stores the data a coach and athlete need to run a coaching relationship — account info, programs, workout logs, check-ins, messages, and media. We do not sell any of it. We do not use your training data to train third-party models. Your coach sees your athlete data; other athletes never do. You can export or delete it whenever you want.
This page is a placeholder summarizing how Plyo handles data today, and is not the final published legal policy. The summary is accurate as of the effective date.
What we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone number, role (coach or athlete), and the coach-athlete relationships linking you to your team.
- Training data — programs assigned, scheduled workouts, exercise logs, set logs, time-under-tension logs, and pre-workout check-ins (energy, sleep, pain flags).
- Communication data — messages, voice notes, form videos, and coach acknowledgments between you and your coach.
- Progress data — body metrics you log, progress photos you upload, injury history you record.
- Device data — minimal diagnostic information to deliver push notifications and sync offline content reliably. IP address is logged at sign-in for security only.
How we use it
We use your data solely to operate the coaching workflows you and your coach have opted into: delivering today's workout, syncing logs back to your coach, surfacing pain or attention flags, and powering progress analytics.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your training data, voice notes, form video, or messages to train third-party models. Anonymized, aggregated product analytics (e.g. how often the “Coach saw your workout” interaction is tapped) may be used to improve Plyo itself.
Who can see your data
Your assigned coach — and, if applicable, the head coach of your organization — sees your training data, check-ins, messages, and progress. Other athletes in your organization cannot see your data. Plyo staff access your data only for support requests you initiate, or to investigate security incidents.
Subprocessors who handle your data on our behalf are listed under /security/subprocessors — currently AWS (hosting, US-East), Cloudflare (CDN), Postmark (transactional email), and Sentry (error reporting, scrubbed of personal data).
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or delete your account at any time:
- Export — full CSV + media zip, signed URL via email, within one business day.
- Correction — most account fields are editable in-app under Settings. For training-data corrections, email privacy@plyo.app.
- Deletion — Settings → Account → Delete. Removes personal identifiers and uploaded media. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained.
- Access — GDPR/CCPA data subject requests handled within 30 days.
Retention
Training data is retained for the lifetime of your account so progress graphs and PR history remain accurate across years of training. Deleted accounts are purged after a 14-day grace period (during which the deletion can be reversed by emailing support).
